RI Campaign 2010 - Taveras Says Providence Can Be Creative Capital of US
Friday, June 18, 2010
Providence mayoral candidate Angel Taveras, a Democrat, will host a forum on supporting the arts and the creative economy in the capital city next week.
“The arts are critically important to every aspect of our city,” Taveras said. “They bring creativity to our classrooms, vibrancy to our neighborhoods, thousands of jobs to our residents and millions of dollars in economic development. The next Mayor has a unique opportunity to transform Providence from being the Creative Capital of Rhode Island into the Creative Capital of the United States. I look forward to sharing my plan to make this vision a reality.”
The forum is next Tuesday at 5 p.m. at 28 Wolcott Street.
