NEW: RI Sec. of State Gorbea Releases “Restart Rhode Island” Report

Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea's Transition Committee released its "Restart Rhode Island" report on Thursday.
The committee has outlined 20 key recommendations designed to "re-ignite, re-think and re-energize" the relationship between Rhode Islanders and their government.
“We are confident that these recommendations can help spur a new era of civic engagement, increase trust and economic activity while boosting Rhode Islanders’ sense of pride,” Committee Chair Arianne Corrente said. “Secretary Gorbea brings a new leadership style and level of energy that will bring out the best in Rhode Island.”

The report outlines multiple recommendations for the Department of State’s five divisions: Public Information, Elections and Civics, Business Services, State Archives and the State Library. Each recommendation revolves around a common goal: to develop a stronger connection between Rhode Islanders and their government.
The transition committee included: Arianne Corrente - Chair, John J. Bevilacqua, Bill Foulkes, Diane Lynch, Greg Mancini, John Marion, Patricia Martínez, Angela Romans, Pablo Rodríguez, MD, Jody Sullivan, Anne Szostak and Jim Vincent.
