Friday, October 04, 2013
Democratic mayoral candidate and former Providence Housing Court Judge Jorge Elorza announced today that he has exceeded his fundraising expectations in his first 30 days of raising money, garnering $60,000 in contributions in addition to a personal loan of $22,000.
When announcing his likely bid for Mayor on his campaign website, Elorza set a goal to raise $30,000 in his first 30 days of fundraising.
"I am thrilled at the outpouring of support that our grassroots campaign has received across our great capital city," said Elorza. "People from neighborhoods all across Providence are investing in our vision for a thriving middle class with good jobs, stronger schools, safe streets and thriving artistic and entrepreneurial communities."
