Brett Smiley, who is planning to run in the Democratic Primary for Mayor of Providence, today announced that he raised $101,292 for the quarter ending September 30. This is Smiley’s first quarter of fundraising.

Smiley said, "I am pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response to my candidacy and confident that I will have the resources to communicate my ideas for getting our economy moving, improving our schools and making our streets safer. I know with the right leadership we can turn Providence’s tremendous potential into a prosperous new reality that improves the quality of life for all of our neighborhoods."

Smiley has $97,000 in cash on hand and provided an in-kind contribution of approximately $3,000 in un-reimbursed fundraising and office expenses to his campaign.

Brett Smiley is the founder and owner of a successful development, election compliance and advocacy business. He is the former Chair of the Providence Water Supply Board. Myrth York and Christine West serve as Co-Chairs of his Mayoral Exploratory Committee.

The Providence mayoral field also includes City Council President Michael Solomon, former Housing Court Judge Jorge Elorza and Republican Dan Harrop.
