In another strange twist, Dr. Dan Harrop who had been disputing the decision to appoint Mark Smiley Chair of the RIGOP, has posted to his Facebook page he is dropping out of the race.
The post which appeared at 9:20 am says he is, "Celebrating my withdrawal from the RI GOP Chairmanship race tonight by having a drink at the Hot Club with Councilman Michael Solomon and discussing my 2014 Providence Mayoral run."
