NEW: Doherty Endorsed By Alan Simpson & Erskine Bowles
Tuesday, October 16, 2012
Republican Congressional candidate Brendan Doherty has been endorsed by former Republican Senator, Alan Simpson and former Clinton White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles, the two men tapped the chair President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform in 2010.

The two released the following statement:
“Our nation desperately needs to get its fiscal house in order and it must demand leaders who are willing to put partisan differences aside and come together to present the American people with real solutions and compromise.
“Brendan supports a plan that demonstrated it is possible to raise revenues for deficit reduction through pro-growth tax reforms that reduce tax rates for individuals and business. Likewise, it is possible to reform entitlement programs to make them fiscally sound for future generations in a way that preserves and strengthens protections for seniors and those most vulnerable in society.
“Brendan has put partisanship aside by being willing to step forward to make tough decisions our nation needs. He’s a brave leader who deserves the thanks of everyone who really cares about our nation’s future.
“It is for these reasons that we urge the residents of the First District of Rhode Island to support Brendan Doherty as your representative in the 113 th Congress.”

I was going to call them "Mouth-breathers," but that is an insult to people with allergies. I think "Knuckle-draggers" might be good.
