Governor Lincoln Chafee, the new-found Democrat, and Providence Mayor Angel Taveras were seen breaking toast at Capitol Hill Diner on Smith Street.
Speculation runs rampant about how the now complex Democratic 2014 primary breaks. There are two arguments, if Taveras, Chafee and Gina Raimondo all compete for the Democratic nomination than Chafee and Taveras split the progressive and labor vote and Raimondo benefits.
Another scenario is that if Chafee can talk Taveras into staying in Providence as Mayor, then Chafee solidifies his core progressive, union, environmental base and can holdoff Raimondo's challenge.
