Wednesday, July 21, 2010
In a year where non-traditional is in vogue - RI's Moderate Party took another unfortunate political hit today. Moderate Party Candidate, Jean Ann Guliano announced she was dropping out of the race for State Senate in District 35. Previously, she was going to run for Lt. Governor for the Moderate Party.
"I have notified the Board of Canvassers, today, that I am withdrawing my name for consideration as a candidate for State Senate District 35. I am withdrawing for health reasons," said Guiliano.

"This is an exciting election year. It is even more exciting to be a part of the Moderate Party and Ken Block's campaign for governor. I will continue to support Ken's candidacy. We need someone in the governor's office with common sense and no political baggage. Ken is the candidate who will represent the people and small business - not special interests," added Guiliano.
When asked about Guliano's leaving the race, Campaign Director, Christine Hunsinger said, "We were very sorry to hear that Jean Ann had taken ill. We wish her the best, and hope she feels better very soon. We're lucky to have her support, and know she wis a great asset to the growth of the Moderate Party."
