Middletown Democrats Endorse Cicilline for Congress

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

The Middletown Democratic Town Committee announced yesterday it had unanimously endorsed Providence Mayor David Cicilline in his race for the First Congressional District seat. In a press release, chairman David Lavine said the committee was supporting Cicilline because of his record as Providence mayor, citing his efforts on behalf of job creation, reducing crime, support for after-school programs, and membership in the “Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition.”

“David Cicilline is the strongest candidate to move forward a bold vision of the future of our state. His energy, experience and knowledge of the issues will be a tremendous asset for the people of Rhode Island,“ Lavine said. “I can't think of a better person to fill the seat vacated by Patrick Kennedy.”
