Major Taxpayer Group Endorses Legislative Candidates
Thursday, October 07, 2010
The RISC Business Network has endorsed ten candidates for the House and eight for the Senate—including Republicans, Democrats, independents, and one Moderate.
“Never has there been more at stake for Rhode Island, its businesses and its taxpayers,” said Arlene Violet, a spokesperson for the RISC Business Network, which is a project of the Rhode Island Statewide Coalition. “The public sector unions are determined to continue waging their war on the average Rhode Islander's paycheck, by forcing their unaffordable anti-business agenda onto the General Assembly. The RISC Business Network has identified smart, motivated and competent candidates who are determined to bring a pro-business/pro jobs agenda into the Assembly and we are supporting them for that reason.”
The RISC Business Network endorsed those candidates who supported its “pro-growth” agenda, which includes tax reform, curbing public employee contract costs, streamlining regulation, and giving communities the tools they need to cut spending.
