Attorney General and Democratic candidate for governor Patrick Lynch is not backing down from his accusation that Gov. Don Carcieri lied about the size of the off-shore wind farm project and how many jobs it would generate.

Yesterday, state GOP chairman Giovanni Cicione demanded that Lynch apologize.

But Lynch campaign manager Joel Coon told GoLocalProv that Lynch stands by his statement and won’t apologize.

Lynch has said that the wind farm will have only eight wind turbines, not 110, and that it will create six jobs, instead of hundreds or thousands of new positions, according to Coon.

Carcieri has called the accusations a “disgrace” and a misrepresentation of his position.
