NEW: Costantino Knocks Off Petrarca in District 44

Democratic challenger Greg Costantino cruised to victory of incumbent and Deputy Majority Leader Peter Petrarca in House District 44, the Board of Elections has confirmed.

Costantino won with 60 percent of the vote.

Costantino, whose brother Steven mounted an unsuccessful run for Mayor of Providence in 2010, spent much of the campaign attacking Petrarca, who predicted he would would win comfortably.
