Monday, August 15, 2011
GoLocalProv caught up with GOP United States Senate candidate Barry Hinckley as he and his campaign team rode over 40 miles to promote new job creation in Rhode Island. The event, Ride4Jobs, is intyended to cover the entire state. Hinckley speaks with business owners and learns what can be done to help their economic situation.
According to Hinckley, "Rhode Island was recently rated by CNBC as the worst state in the country to open or run a business. This has real consequences: at 10.8%, Rhode Island’s unemployment rate is the third worst in America. When Senator Sheldon Whitehouse took office in January of 2007, that number was 4.9%. Under his watch, the number of jobless Rhode Islanders has more than doubled."
