Conservative Democrat Throws Hat Into Race for 2nd Congressional District

A conservative Democrat and Roger Williams University political science professor has announced that he is running for Congress in the Second District.
Ernie Greco’s entrance now makes the Democratic primary a three-way race with incumbent Jim Langevin and challenger Betsy Dennigan.
Greco, who is originally from Chicago, has been a resident of Providence since 1991 and is a member of the 5th Ward Democratic Committee. He has taught at Roger Williams University for 15 years.

As a candidate, Greco also is calling for the reform of “Obamacare,” tax credits and vouchers for private schools, more enforcement of laws on illegal immigration, and keeping the detainment facility at Guantanamo Bay open.
