Caprio takes lead in recent poll

Friday, August 20, 2010

Democrat Frank Caprio has broken ahead in the polls and holds a slight advantage over Independent candidate Lincoln Chafee in the Governor's race.

The monthly Rasmussen Poll of Likely Voters reports that Caprio 38% to Chafee’s 32%.  If John Robitaille is the Republican nominee in the race, he pulls 20%.  Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, while eight percent (8%) are undecided.

Prior to this poll, Chafee has consistently led General Treasurer Caprio, while Robitaille has failed to earn more than 25% of the vote.

If Victor Moffitt is the Republican candidate - he garners 17% of the vote.

Last month, Chafee led Caprio 37% to 30%.
