video: NEW: Hinckley Calls Whitehouse ‘Out of Touch’ in Latest Web Video

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Republican Senate candidate Barry Hinckley has released another web video calling Senator Sheldon Whitehouse out of touch with the real issues facing Rhode Island.

“Our federal tax code is broken, unfair, and needlessly complicated," said Barry Hinckley, candidate for US Senate. “My experience in the private sector taught me that you can't fix a systemic problem by tinkering around the edges and our problem is systemic. Specifically, we have an outdated tax code that doesn't raise enough money to fund our massive government. It's long past time to get serious about fixing the tax code that career politicians broke. Let's eliminate all loopholes and carve-outs for special interests, and institute a fairer and much simpler alternative. As the next U.S. Senator from Rhode Island, I pledge to work toward this goal," said Hinckley.

The video takes Whitehouse to task for incorrectly stating his yearly salary on a recent taping of WPRI's Newsmakers.

“The bottom line is that Senator Whitehouse continues to demand more of our tax dollars, but refuses to even tell us how he plans to use the money. Sheldon Whitehouse has already mortgaged our children's future and imperiled our economy with his tax-and-spend agenda. We cannot afford another six years of his extreme ideology," Hinckley concluded.

Agreed, Sheldon is a tax-and-spender who believes in a fantasy economy where big government can just perpetually hand out goodies to those who are perpetually entitled.
