Exclusive to GoLocalProv: House Speaker Gordon Fox Endorses Cicilline for Congress

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

In a one-on-one interview with GoLocalProv's Tracey Minkin, House Speaker Gordon Fox announced his endorsement of Providence Mayor David Cicilline for the First Congressional District.  This comes as a surprising, early endorsement in the campaign cycle, and will no doubt boost Cicilline's campaign statewide.  Speakers in Rhode Island politics have traditionally refrained from endorsements during their parties' primary seasons; the effects of Fox's announcement may be felt keenly at former Democratic State Party Chairman Bill Lynch campaign headquarters.

More on this race as it develops, from the News and Political teams at GoLocalProv.
