The FBI document states:
Our microphone surveillance covering Rhode Island hoodlum, Raymond Patriarca has revealed that Patriarca has unidentified connections in the Rhode Island State Police; that he is considering putting Frank Sinatra and Joe DiMaggio on the Board of Directors of Hancock Race Track, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, to lend “class” tot he race track.

According to the the document, “Patriarca revealed that he had a private conversation with Governor of Rhode Island subject of which was not specified.

Patriarca is partners with Joseph Straci and Anthony (Tony “Fats”) Salerno in a land deal in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

In order to mask the the lack of enforcement of Patriarca , the only enforcement will take place against smaller guys. “But at no time will he (head of the State Police) raid any large bookie operations or gambling establishments,” said FBI documents.
