Healthcare Expert and Former GoLocal Contributor Amy Gallagher Passes at 51

Healthcare expert Amy Gallagher passes at age 51. For a number of years, she was a valued contributor to GoLocal writing about healthcare and business.
She had more than two decades of healthcare industry experience guiding employers and employees. As Vice President at Cornerstone Group, she advised large employers on all aspects of healthcare reform, benefit solutions, cost-containment strategies, and results-driven wellness programs.

Gallagher regularly presented on a variety of healthcare-related topics, and was often quoted by national publications on the subject matter. Locally, Amy was a member of SHRM-RI, the Rhode Island Business Group on Health, and the Rhode Island Business Healthcare Advisory Council.

Amy L. Gallagher (Vale), 51, of Jamestown, passed away on November 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Gallagher.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Louise (Dillon) Vale of Lincoln and the late Victor Vale.
In addition to her mother and husband, she leaves two daughters, Greta and Ava Gallagher at home.
Amy received an MBA from Bryant University. She worked for Cornerstone Group in Warwick, retiring in 2014 due to illness. She formerly worked for United Healthcare, Harvard Pilgrim Health and Delta Dental.
Amy started the Amy Gallagher Foundation to raise funds and awareness toward brain cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Amy served as President of the Jamestown Republican Committee; and volunteered at St. Michael Country Day School assisting with finance and school events.
Amy enjoyed boating, skiing, traveling and vacationing on Nantucket. She also loved interior design.
Amy leaves a sister, Viki Vale of North Weymouth, MA; and brother, Andrew Vale of North Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10 am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. Burial will follow in
St. Mark Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Amy Gallagher Foundation, PO Box 125, Jamestown, RI 02835 www.amygallagherfoundation.org will be appreciated.
