Former PC Hockey Star Adams Passes Away at 27

Former Providence College hockey defenseman Mark Adams passed away suddenly on Monday, September 17.
He was 27 years old.
"Our program is heartbroken with the passing of Mark. He was a great teammate and a special part of our entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family,” said PC hockey head coach Nate Leaman in a statement.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
About Adams
Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Adams, of Boxford, MA, played in 98 games for the Friars from 2010-15, totaling two goals and six assists.
He appeared in all four NCAA Tournament games as the Friars won their first-ever national championship in 2015.
Before coming to Providence, Adams captained the 2009-10 Chicago Steel (USHL) where he recorded four goals and 10 assists.
He also played three seasons at Malden Catholic High (Mass.) from 2006-09.
