Wind Farm Vote Delayed
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
A vote on a wind farm bill has been delayed, according to the state Senate press office.
The bill was scheduled to come up for a vote before the Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture Thursday, but has now been postponed. A new date for the vote has not been set.
The bill would have changed the approval process for a contract between National Grid and Deepwater Wind, the developer of the proposed wind farm off Block Island. The state Public Utilities Commission has rejected the contract. The bill would allow four other state agencies to approve it instead.
