Democratic candidate Jorge Elorza has had his best fundraising period. He raised nearly $200,000 from many of the State's super rich.
He faces one of the most prolific fundraisers in Rhode Island history. Buddy Cianci may have raised more in campaign funds than any other candidate.
In this most recent filing report, Elorza raised $182,260 from individuals - less than half as much as Cianci's $470,000+ from individuals.

Super Wealthy Donors
A number of Elorza's donors are among the most wealthy in Rhode Island. From former CEOs from Hasbro, Fleet, BankRI and Gilbane, Elorza has attracted many super rich donors.
Elorza enters the final four-weeks with $160,000 in the bank to Cianci's $301,000.

Former top aide to Lincoln Chafee and David Cicilline is a big Elorza supporter (following Smiley's exit) and was part of the core group of the failed Anybody But Cianci effort.
She worked for Chafee in DC and came back to RI to serve as Chief of Staff for Cicilline during his tenure that created the City of Providence's fiscal meltdown.

Chace is the widow of billionaire Malcolm 'Kim' Chace III.
