grade: Who Has Been Effective Responding to 38 Studios Crisis?
Saturday, June 09, 2012
The first phase of Curt Schilling's 38 Studios is over. The company that scored $75 million in loan guarantee funds by Rhode Island is now in the midst of one of the biggest controversies in its history.
In the past few weeks one of the biggest technology employers has laid off all of its workers, the company recruited to be an economic engine has declared bankruptcy, the state has lost over $100 million, and federal law enforcement are now investigating.
Amazingly, no legislative leader nor the Rhode Island Attorney General has issued a single press release on the crisis.
