GoLocalProv has made some "cool" improvements. Welcome to the newest version of GoLocalProv.com - we call it 4.0.

The new version of GoLocal is designed for bigger impact and to show more content. As a Rhode Island company that is beginning to expand across the country, we are excited about our growth and the changes.

We continue to get more and more cramped in our offices on Weybosset Street in Downtown Providence.  Each day GoLocal posts more original local stories than any other news organization in Rhode Island.

4.0 does a number of things to benefit the reader:

1) It just looks better - we use big sweeping landscape pictures of Rhode Island to help tell the story.

2) About halfway down the homepage, we've added the new "Top Story Block" that allows you to see the top three-stories in each section of the site. Is this an original idea to help our readers? Heck no. We "borrowed" the idea from the New York Times' homepage layout. Heck, they borrowed it from somebody else. Regardless, it is an easy way to see all the content flowing.

3)The site is faster. Thanks to the five million plus pageviews a month we generate from great readers and the local advertisers who have leveraged GoLocal to get their message out, we have been able to reinvest in content, writers and technology. The more folks in Rhode Island who read us, the more advertisers who join on board, then the more we can reinvest in GoLocal content and experience.

We don't run commodity Associated Press stories - we run the content written by Rhode Island journalists, experts, and MINDSETTERS™.  It is not generic placeholder content written by others and relabeled. Over the past four years, we have delivered more than 100 million pages of content.  The most amazing number is that more than 550,000 separate IP addresses have visited GoLocalProv more than 200 times.

Our goal is to continue to improve and grow in Rhode Island and across the United States.
