State Police Arrest Man with Gun at Twin River

Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of a Providence resident on a weapons charge after he allegedly displayed a handgun at the Twin River Casino Hotel on Thursday.

Andrew M. Owen, age 29, of 25 Newton St., Apt. 3, Providence, was charged with:

License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol
Disorderly Conduct.

Owen was arraigned in Third Division District Court on Thursday and was released on $10,000 surety bail.

He was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. after an investigation by members of the Rhode Island State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit, with assistance from Twin River Casino’s surveillance and security personnel. He was allegedly captured on security cameras at the hotel displaying a handgun earlier in the day, resulting in the investigation and arrest.
