Find out how much your community got in state municipal aid in the new budget—and see how your city or town compares to others around Rhode Island. The below slides have the full breakdown of state aid by category and community.

The below slides break down state municipal aid by community. For each city or town five types of state aid are listed: Distressed Community Relief, Municipal Incentive Aid, State Library Aid, the car tax reimbursement, and payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT payments). Note the data does not include state education aid or revenue sharing.

In order to provide a meaningful comparison from community-to-community, the total amount is divided by population to show how much each is receiving per capita. Because the bulk of PILOT payments go to just one community—Providence—the slides are ranked based on the per capita amount minus the PILOT payments. Communities are listed in order of least to greatest. Figures are for the budget for fiscal year 2015, which begins next month. Data was obtained from the state Division of Municipal Finance.
