Thursday, May 24, 2012

Curt Schilling's video game company 38 Studios continues to dominate the headlines with bounced checks, layoffs, and conflicting timelines regarding a controversional piece of legislation that was pushed quickly through the General Assembly session of 2010. As 38 Studios continues to teeter on the brink, GoLocalProv presents 38 Studios: A Special Report, co-hosted by News Editor Dan McGowan and Features Editor Tracey Minkin, live Friday morning May 25 from 6-8am on 920 WHJJ radio.

38 Studios will take a close, up-to-the-minute look at what led up to the company deciding to move from Massachusetts to Rhode Island in 2010, its $75 million loan guarantee, as well as what the future holds not only for the company itself, but for the the embattled Rhode Island Development Corporation, which backed the controversial deal struck with the state.

Dan McGowan has been breaking developments in the 38 Studios story every day. Tune in for his inside take behind those headlines. The show will take callers from 6-8am at 1-866-920-WJHH.

This is third special GoLocal radio report anchored by McGowan and Minkin. Corruption in Providence: A Special Report examined the capital city's three federal investigations in April.
