Senate Committee May Vote on Pot Decriminalization
Tuesday, May 04, 2010
The Senate Judiciary Committee could vote today on a bill (2010-S 2786) that would decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana. The committee is having a hearing on the bill in Room 313 at 4:30 p.m. A related bill (2010-S 2208) would bar police from searching minors without a warrant and without telling them they have the right to refuse the search. The committee will hold a hearing and possible vote on that bill on Thursday in Room 313.
