Sen. Whitehouse Applauds Criminal Probe Into Oil Spill

News that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was launching a criminal probe into the Gulf Coast oil spill was welcomed yesterday by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI, according to 630 WPRO, a GoLocalProv media partner.

“It looks a lot like a tradition had developed in the regulatory system—the Minerals Management Service—that was way too cozy with this industry and that was frankly in places it seems really outright lawless,” Whitehouse said.
