Fourth Place Top School: Barrington High School
Tuesday, May 11, 2010

But the school’s excellence is more than just a matter of the numbers. In addition to classes in French, German, and Spanish, Barrington High offers Mandarin Chinese and Latin. The school also has a robust, multi-media journalism program, with its own morning television news show—called “Sunrise on Eagle’s Wings”—and a lively monthly school newspaper, The Talon. The school also shows it is on the cutting edge with student groups like Future Business Leaders of America—which builds real-world know-how into the extracurricular environment.
The school consistently is recognized by local and national observers as one of the best. Just last week, two of its students became Rhode Island’s Presidential Scholars for 2010, according to publicschoolreview.com.
What school is Rhode Island's third best school?

My guess is that lower per-student spendingmay simply mean fewer dollars required for special ed which accounts for a lot of that spending in other district. Future rankings might break out these costs which often skew the statistics.
