Rhode Island leads the United States in salaries for elementary school teachers, according to data developed by GoLocal's partner FindTheBest. Rhode Island is $5,000 more that teachers in Massachusetts and more than $20,000 higher than Maine - which has a similar population to Rhode Island.
Arizona is the lowest state in the United States - just above $40,000 a year.
The data derives from the U.S, Department of Labor.
