Reed Secures Millions in Flood Aid for RI
Friday, May 14, 2010
U.S. Senator Jack Reed has added funding to a supplemental appropriations bill to help the Ocean State recover from severe flooding earlier this spring, according to his Senate office.
Reed also reduced the amount of matching funds Rhode Island has to contribute, from 25 percent to 10 percent.
“We have a long road to recovery and this is a good first step,” Reed said. “It is a down payment to help Rhode Island recover and will significantly reduce the burden on the state to match the federal relief aid.”
