Raimondo Orders U.S. & RI Flags to be Flown at Half Staff
Friday, July 15, 2016
Governor Gina Ramondo has ordered all U.S. and Rhode Island flags to be lowered at all state facilities and buildings, in accordance with a Presidential Proclamation. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on July 19 in honor of the victims of the Nice, France attack.
"Our hearts go out to Nice and the people of France. I am saddened by this act of violence. As we keep the victims and their loved ones in our prayers, let's recommit ourselves to working together to make our communities stronger and safer," said Raimondo.
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
