Raimondo Expands Staff

General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo yesterday announced three new additions to her staff in the areas of policy, operations, and pensions. She added that she will retain the state's chief investment officer and fill the director of finance office through an internal promotion.

"I am committed to assembling the strongest team to help me navigate these challenging times in state government," Raimondo said. "Their dedication and mixture of private and public sector experience will help me implement my broad agenda to get out financial house in order."

According to the release, Raimondo's additions are as follows:

Josh Brumberger (Providence, RI) as Deputy Treasurer, Policy & Financial Empowerment: Former chief of staff and senior advisor for Eric Dinallo's campaign for New York State Attorney General, Brumberger also worked for the Fortress Investment Group in New York as well as serving as a senior staff member on Sen. John Edward's presidential campaign from 2002-2006. He is a graduate of Northeastern University.

Christopher T. Feisthamel (East Greenwich, RI) as Chief Operating Officer: Feisthamel served as principal of Dempsey & Co., a management consulting firm, which he founded in 2005, before which he acted as CFO of Citizens and Fidelity Investments. A graduate of Providence College, he currently serves on the school's President's Council as well as on the Preserve Rhode Island and Leadership Rhode Island boards.

Kenneth E. Goodreau (East Greenwich, RI) as Chief Investment Officer: Goodreau has managed the Treasury's investments since 2006, before which he was a general partner and portfolio manager at Knollwood Capital Partners, LLC, a Boston-based investment fund. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island.

Melissa Malone (Providence, RI) as Assistant Director of Member Services, Employee's Retirement System of Rhode Island: Malone was previously a senior associate at Taylor Duane Barton & Gilman, LLP and qualified to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. A graduate of the University of Connecticut and Trinity College, Malone also serves on the Providence Public School Board.

Patrick Marr (Cranston, RI) as Associate Director of Finance: A graduate of Providence College, Marr previously served as a fiscal manager and investment analyst for the Treasury.
