Race to the Top: Where Did the Money Go?

The smallest state in the nation won big when it was awarded $75 million in federal Race to the Top funds in 2010. Everyone from teachers and parents to reform advocates had great expectations for where the money would go and what it would achieve.

One year into the program, nearly a third of the money has been spent. About half has gone to the school districts, while the rest has been spent at the statewide level. So where has the money been spent? Click on the slides below to see the top ten expenditures.
