Providence’s Custom House Tavern To Reopen As The Diamond Room
Thursday, July 23, 2015
After shutting down and undergoing renovations, The Custom House Tavern will open in the near future as The Diamond Room.
The new iteration of the 36 Weybosset Street property will feature a full selection of liquor, valet parking, and a revamped menu. According to documents filed with the City of Providence, a dozen burgers, seven different versions of hand-cut potato chips, and four different salads are going to be available to customers.
The Diamond Room is also planning on donating $25,000 a year to an unnamed breast cancer foundation and is looking to hire bartenders, bar backs, cocktail waitresses, servers, and kitchen help. Interested workers are suggested to email [email protected] with their resume and any additional information.

As GoLocal previously reported, Steven M. The property, which is valued at $643,100, has $170,000 invested in the construction. The permit itself cost $2,521.
Building and inspection file notes show bathrooms in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, partitions, kitchen equipment, millwork, and finishes are all part of the proposed construction.
