Wednesday, July 27, 2016
On Wednesday, a federal judge ruled that John Hinckley Jr. who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in a hope to impress actress Jodie Foster over 35 years ago will be released from a Washington mental into a full-time care of his mother in Virginia.
Hinckley was found not guilty for the shooting by reason of insanity, however, doctors have said he no longer suffers from the mental illness that drove him to shoot Reagan.
GoLocal teams with Graphiq to show a timeline of presidential assassinations and assassination attempts, as well as the prevalence of mental illness in the U.S.
