Pot Legalization Still Supported Across United States
Thursday, November 06, 2014
Results based on a recent Gallup poll conducted in mid October show that 51% of Americans are still in favor of legalizing marijuana which is down from the 58% that supported it last year.
The poll was conducted during the run up to the mid-term elections where various pro-marijuana policy initiatives went before voters in Oregon, Washington D.C. and Florida. In Florida, a constitutional amendment to legalize medical marijuana was proposed but it failed, only getting 57% of the 60% vote needed.
Gallup's poll also shows that it is much easier to gain support for legalizing marijuana amongst liberals then it is amongst moderates and conservatives.
