Saturday, June 28, 2014
There will be a park dedication and celebration to late councilman Miguel C. Luna on Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. The park on Sackett Street, between Hamilton and Niagara Streets, will be renamed the “Miguel Luna Memorial Park.”
Luna was first elected to the City Council in 2002 and passed away in 2012.
The park’s recent improvements were made possible through $28,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated by Councilwoman Carmen Castillo, and a National Grid donation of $20,000. National Grid employees also planted new landscaping at the park this spring.
