Operation Stand Down has successfully delivered over 100 turkey baskets to veterans and their families as well as serving 40 veterans and their families Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday night.
“We would like to say thank you to all our community partners who helped us make this Thanksgiving special for the veterans we serve. For some of these men and women holidays are a difficult time because it stirs up upsetting memories of holidays away from their families and on deployment. We are glad that we can help make this year just a little bit easier for our heroes," said OSDRI Founder and President Tony DeQuattro.
Volunteers from Citizens Bank helped put the baskets together last week. The food was donated by various groups hosting food drives. The groups included the Providence Police, the Federation of Republican Woman, and the Coventry High School JROTC.
