As many Rhode Island workers and small businesses continue to struggle in this tough economy, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse will kick off a month-long August jobs tour of the state this Wednesday, August 8th, with visits to two companies that are owned and operated in Rhode Island: FarSounder, a Warwick company that develops sonar technology, and Imperial Packaging, a small carton manufacturing company based in Pawtucket.

Both FarSounder and Imperial Packaging are successful companies with future plans for expansion in the state. During each company tour, the Senator will hear from the respective owners and employees, and discuss his jobs plan for Rhode Island, which includes efforts to secure tax credits for companies that hire.

On his month-long jobs tour, the Senator will visit small businesses around the state to hear from their owners and employees about what they need to succeed and create jobs in the state.
