NEW: Watson Appearance Chaos on DePetro’s Show
Wednesday, April 27, 2011
House Minority Leader Bob Watson was almost a no-show on WPRO's John DePetro's this morning to discuss his arrest on a DUI charge and possession of pot.
Watson had originally been scheduled to be a guest at 9 a.m., but was a no-show, earning the on-air wrath of DePetro who called him "Pot-son."
Half an hour late, Watson called in briefly to speak with DePetro - but then did not take any calls.

He expressed regret that the issue has become a distraction from the issues facing the state. "I'm not surprised that it became a tempest in a teapot," Watson told DePetro. "I'd like to hope that this can be resolved quickly so that we can get back to the issues that matter."
Watson stirred another controversy earlier this year in a sarcastic remark he made about other so-called "distractions" - a remark that happened to mention marijuana. "I guess that if you are a Guatemalan gay man who likes to gamble and smokes marijuana, you probably think we're onto some good ideas here," Watson said earlier this year.
"The irony isn't lost on me that I'm one of the distractions," Watson told DePetro this morning.
