NEW: Speaker Fox Calls on WPRO to Pull Critical Ad

Thursday, October 25, 2012

A law firm for House Speaker Gordon Fox is calling on WPRO to pull a controversial radio criticizing Fox for his role in bringing Curt Schilling’s now-bankrupt 38 Studios to Rhode Island.

In a letter addressed to WPRO General Manager Barbara Haynes, Susan Pegden of Hamel Waxler Allen & Collins suggests the critical ad is in violation of the state law, which requires independent expenditure groups to file disclosure documents to identify their backers.

“The integrity of the election process is only guaranteed when all parties abide by the rules,” the letter states. “I request that you will confirm that WPRO will not participate in further broadcast of the subject commercial in knowing violation of the law.”

The ad was purchased by a group known as Concerned Citizens Against Gordon Fox, but the group’s founder Harvey Adelberg did not file disclosure paper work until this afternoon.

the paperwork oversight has already been filed. Problem fixed.
So there should be no reason why the ad cannot continue.
Is Fox such a hypocrite that he can dish it out but not take it?
