NEW: Sen. Whitehouse to Discuss Pell Grants Monday

Friday, November 18, 2011

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) will hold a roundtable discussion on Pell Grants at Rhode Island College on Monday, Nov. 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the Faculty Center South.

Whitehouse will provide an update from Washington about the status of the Pell Grant program and recount his efforts to protect the program from severe budget cuts that could have a grave impact on grant awards.

The senator is encouraging students to attend the event and share their personal stories on how the Pell Grants have made a difference in their ability to pursue a college education.
