NEW: Schools Delayed By Business Seminar Monday

A sold out downtown business seminar will delay the opening of schools by two hours in Providence Monday, the School Department has confirmed.
According to School Department spokeswoman Christina O'Reilly, the schools faced two dificult scenarios: Delay school by two hours or have parents drive their children to school in the thick of predicted traffic.
"Ultimately, it came down to a recommendation from the Public Safety Commissioner," O'Reilly said. "The district worked closely with public safety this week to cross-map and examine bus routes and timing in the context of the expected traffic congestion and timing.
