NEW: Providence Public Housing Receives Top Marks

The Providence Housing Authority (PHA) received a “High Performer” rating on the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) annual Public Housing Assessment System.

The rating system evaluates four major indicators: physical condition, financial condition, management operations, and resident service and satisfaction.

In the physical condition category, the PHA scored 24 out of 30—a two-point increase over last year. In financial condition, the PHA received an impressive 29.4 out of 30, continuing its six-year upward trend in the category. For management operations, the PHA scored 29 out of 30, and for resident service and satisfaction it received 9 out of 10 points.

Taken together, the PHA received 92.4 out of 100 possible points in the four main categories.
