NEW: PHA Director O’Rourke Won’t Go on Leave

The Board of Commissioners for the Providence Housing Authority Wednesday voted 5-4 against placing longtime executive director Stephen O'Rourke on paid leave while an independent investigator looks into allegations of sexual harassment and financial mismanagement made by an employee.

Councilman and board member John Igliozzi made the motion to place O'Rourke on leave. Councilmen Nick Narducci, Kevin Jackson and board member Tom Ryan.

Board chairman Paul Waldman was the deciding vote.
