NEW: North Providence Police Chief Guilty of Stealing Cash from Stripper

Whiting was accused of stealing the money from a woman following a car chase during Tropical Storm Irene last summer.
After stealing the money, he later told a Pawtucket police officer to take it to Las Vegas. That officer, John Brown, testified against Whiting.
Whiting will be sentenced on September 14.

I'm totally stunned.
What, with all the corruption and back door dealings, I thought for sure that he'd be found not guilty.
Kudos do those who did the right thing. This town and state need to start punishing those who feel they're above the law.
