Former Congressional candidate John Loughlin has been tapped to work on Republican Senate candidate Barry Hinckley;s campaign, according to a local radio station.
Loughlin shocked local Republicans early this month when he announced that he wouldn't challenge Brendan Doherty in a Republican primary for the 1st Congressiona District.
Hinckley, who is runing for office for the first time, faces a significant fundraising disadvanatage against the incumbent. As of Sept. 30, Hinckley had $149,495 in cash on hand while the Senator had $2,592,876.
