NEW: Langevin to Talk Jobs, Economy During Westerly Community Day

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

At a series of stops in Westerly on Thursday, August 16, 2012, Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) will address priorities for rebuilding the economy and strengthening the middle class, including support for domestic manufacturing and job training initiatives.

Langevin is scheduled to begin at 10:30am at Ametek SCP, a manufacturer of underwater electrical and optical connectors and cable assemblies for military and commercial use, and conclude with a 2:30pm visit to Tower Street School Community Center, where he will hear about the center’s programs, including its participation in an effort to train workers for health care professions. In between, the Congressman will speak at the Westerly Senior Center around lunchtime, arriving at 11:40am to greet area seniors and take questions.

With heated debates about the makeup of the federal budget continuing in Washington, Langevin says it is critical to remember that when we pursue policies that support the middle class, such as encouraging advanced manufacturing and preparing a skilled workforce, it gives increased opportunities for all Americans.

"when we pursue policies that support the middle class, such as encouraging advanced manufacturing and preparing a skilled workforce,..."
Congressman, you forgot about "scaring the seniors."
You couldn't get any more generic, vague, and non-committed if you tried
